THRIFT.

A day that was supposed to be spent at the beach was cancelled by the unpredictable LA weather. Victor and I woke up to a surprisingly gloomy day, that led us to cancel our plans and reschedule our beach day getaway. We took a trip to a huge thrift store (more like a warehouse) just off the 110 freeway: ' Saint Vincent De Paul'. It was both our first time going and we loved it! Some items were a bit pricey but the selection is HUGE and it is really organized. There's even a section with racks of 1.00 dollar clothing! We ended up taking a vintage Disney cup, and a comfy over sized sweater. The furniture, chandeliers and pianos were a dream!

SATC.

STARTED FROM HOME DEPOT NOW IT'S HERE:

Victor and I spent the beginning of the weekend relaxing at home watching the complete first season of Sex and the City. I borrowed the season from my sister Julie, she actually got me into watching the show and the two movies are now a favorite of mine. We took a trip to Home Depot, where I planned to purchase my first succulent! I haven't had much look with the flowers I planted, so I wanted something that would be low maintenance and still look cute. I have been researching succulents, and was eager to get some for our apartment. I was so excited when I purchased this one. I placed it in an old pasta sauce jar, and think that it will look great once it starts to grow. I can't wait to purchase more succulents! Victor cooked a great meal; some tasty lemon pepper chicken and pasta! We finally had the perfect night to enjoy the champagne that a client of his gifted him. The champagne knocked Victor out hehe ^.^

In celebration of us drinking the champagne enjoy this Marina and the Diamonds video for 'shampain' below!

NEW AGE.

Victor and his twin sister Valerie finally turned 22 this past Monday (5/13) and it was such a perfect day! I surprised Victor by baking cupcakes (for the first time!) and decorating our apartment with balloons, streamers, and confetti! It wasn't easy blowing up those balloons with the heat LA had going on that day! I made the 'happy bday' sign out of old magazine cut outs and I loved the way it all came together. We spent the day at his parents house and as you can see, their house was very festive! Victors mom decorated their home beautifully and it looked incredible! Not only were the decorations amazing but the cake looked delicious and adorable all at the same time. I love the cakes she bakes, especially since she makes her own icing! We went out to dinner and had a great time catching up and laughing out loud. Just thinking about dinner brings a smile to my face! I always have a good time with Victors family! After dinner it was time to cut the cake and open gifts. Both Victor and Valerie got everything they wanted. They were both very excited and it was fun looking at their surprised faces opening the gifts. I gifted Victor tickets to the Ke$ha concert in June (placed them inside a card I made complete with a Ke$ha reference) and a Blue Microphone because I know how important music is for him, if I could I would build him his own little studio! We will continue celebrating his birthday this weekend and I am so very excited!

KTWN ART WALK.

Last week Victor and I walked the streets of our neighborhood for Koreatown 'Art Walk'. Koreatown Art Walk takes place every last Thursday of each month. It was our first time, we have gone to the Downtown LA art walk but this art walk is totally different. The art walk in downtown is huge with blocks and blocks of local artists showcasing, and food trucks lined up along the curbs. Ktown art walk is different in the way that it is set up and this probably has to do with it just starting a couple months back. I'm sure tons more artists will start showcasing and the number of people attending will grow as well. I enjoyed the map we received at The Wiltern with 5 galleries/restaurants/studios that were participating. It was fun to look at the map and see where we were headed to. We ended up going to 3 of them and the best one was the studio of Ann Bridges (which I took most photos of). Her work is amazing and she was super sweet! Most of her work is inspired by the buildings in Koreatown, we even saw a painting that featured our apartment building. After spending a few minutes looking at her work she invited us outside to take in the incredible view of Los Angeles. Victor and I were camera crazy; taking photos of Wilshire Boulevard, Hollywood, and Koreatown. The last bad quality photo is from this guy who asked to take a photo of us two, not the best but I still like it! I'm so glad we took the time to support our community and explore our city. Can't wait for next months!
