B • DAY.

Valentines weekend was one for the books! We celebrated by spending it all with our friend Koko. It was seriously so much fun! We did some karaoke to start off, went to a club in downtown, estate sale shopping and a roof top brunch to close it down. See the photos below (ESPECIALLY THE PANCAKE LASAGNA! And the valentines cards we made for each other!):

This is the cutest valentines card I've ever received! Me and victor as kittens!

There's nothing like going out of the norm and enjoying every single minute of it.

III.

Victor and I celebrated our 3 years this past week! YES THREE YEARS! TRES!!! It is crazy looking back at these three years, and everything that has happened! I sometimes find myself thinking back to the years BV (before Victor) and how I would have never thought I'd be where I am now. In these three years we learned a lot about each other, met each others family members and friends (and learned a lot about each one of them)  and took a huge step to moving in together! I remember being excited and nervous taking this huge step but now a little more than a year later I love it! I love our small studio, and even though I would like a bigger space I'm content with what we have. I love coming home to our home and coming home to him.

The day of our anniversary (November 7th) Victor surprised me at work with a 3 DOZEN rose arrangement! I could not believe it and I was so excited, that it was borderline nervous! My heart was pumping so fast and I was in shock. No one has ever done that for me and I have never been in that situation. If anything I usually am the one to bust something like that so it was such a wonderful feeling! Plus he got to meet some of my coworkers!

Later that night we celebrated by taking the train downtown to Bottega Louie, such a cute french restaurant and bakery. It reminds me so much of NY and a restaurant where Carrie Bradshaw would likely visit with her girlfriends. The food was incredible and so was our waitress Zoe. She was adorable! After dinner we walked downtown and stopped by one of Victors favorite spots "The Standard Hotel". Of course we took advantage of the photobooth! As soon as we got home we exchanged gifts and it was so funny to see that we kind of got each other almost the exact same thing. I gifted Victor one of Andy Warhols early work (illustrations for a children's book) and an instagram projecter from Projecteo that showed some memories of our 3 years. He gifted me a view master with some favorite photos of us! CRAZY! The surprise didn't stop there, Saturday he surprised me with an all day pass to the mini theme park "Pacific Park" in the Santa Monica Pier!

Take a look at our photos below:

These gold glittered gift tags are avaiable on our Etsy shop: PALM TREE PUNK!

p.s I just downloaded this super kawaii app called    Korawia and I am obsessed with it!

BLK XMAS.

BLACK ON BLACK:

DINING TABLE:

HOLIDAY CARDS:

With just a few days away from Christmas I decided to make a quick blog post show and telling the holiday decor in our apartment. This holiday season our theme was "black on black". We went back and forth between white and silver or gold but ended up with black and hints of silver/pewter. I love our green table (that Victor painted himself a couple years back) with all the silver decor and frames on it. My favorite piece that's on that table is the white frame with our American flag kissing photograph. We bought small ornaments from Wal-Mart (as well as our black Christmas tree) and filled up a jar with them, this is a simple way to add great holiday detail to your home, and can change the ornaments every year depending on your color scheme. This especially looks great with large vases.

Our gifts are all wrapped with black wrapping paper and black/pewter ribbon from Paper Source. Of course Victor did most of the wrapping. The gifts that I wrapped are not as crisp and structured as the ones he wrapped. His penmanship alone gives the gifts a fancier feel. Victor was inspired by a celebrity's choice of gift wrap (black on black) for our holiday gift wrap.

The dining table was put together by Victor; he chose the plates, star ornaments, and small silver tree center piece. I love that it is elegant yet simple, I think that is the whole feel of our holiday decor this holiday season. We have pieces that look elegant yet are still simple and versatile.

We've received many Christmas cards these past few weeks and it is so very exciting! I've never really experienced this before I mean when I lived with my parents we'd only receive maybe 2 or 3 and one was usually from our dentist! It feels so good to know that our friends/family took the time to send out a card and write a sweet note inside. It also feels surreal and amazing to read "Jose and Victor Go..." on the envelope! Just a reminder that this is actually real life, this is MY life now.

I hope everyone is as excited as I am for Christmas, and has
had a wonderful holiday season:

Merry Christmas!
