NEW BEGINNINGS.
In just one month Victor and I will be moving out of the studio we shared for a little more than a year and moving into a new building! This is the start of something NEW! So new that we decided to merge our blogs TOGETHER and relaunch Palm Tree Punk - not only as our stationery shop BUT as a lifestyle/DIY/mens fashion/daily looks/ and a look into our life.

DIVA.
Our friend Tiffany (and ex coworker) came down from San Francisco, her new home, to visit us and have a photoshoot. She wanted some fun shots for her new blog that she is about to launch; DOITALLDIVA.COM. I love the idea of her blog, she has some serious writing skills AND the whole feel of the blog is SO HER. DOITALLDIVA is inspiring for not only women but men as well; after all, all we want is EVERYTHING right ?!
The gloomy weather worked in our favor and Victor got some great shots. I shot some behind the scenes photos and even those look amazing!
Check them out below:

FRENCH SUNDAY MORNING.
eggs|milk|cinnamon|texas toast
Whipped up some french toast and scrambled eggs this morning and I must say it turned out pretty good! Victor had been hinting that he wanted me to make french toast one morning so this Sunday felt like the perfect morning to do so. The recipe is super easy and it doesn't take too long to prepare/make. I think the best part of the breakfast was the presentation. You don't have to be a great cook; sometimes the presentation is what makes the food delicious!
*We had a great Sunday being local tourists in Hollywood, post to come soon.*

BLK XMAS.
BLACK ON BLACK:
DINING TABLE:
HOLIDAY CARDS:
With just a few days away from Christmas I decided to make a quick blog post show and telling the holiday decor in our apartment. This holiday season our theme was "black on black". We went back and forth between white and silver or gold but ended up with black and hints of silver/pewter. I love our green table (that Victor painted himself a couple years back) with all the silver decor and frames on it. My favorite piece that's on that table is the white frame with our American flag kissing photograph. We bought small ornaments from Wal-Mart (as well as our black Christmas tree) and filled up a jar with them, this is a simple way to add great holiday detail to your home, and can change the ornaments every year depending on your color scheme. This especially looks great with large vases.
Our gifts are all wrapped with black wrapping paper and black/pewter ribbon from Paper Source. Of course Victor did most of the wrapping. The gifts that I wrapped are not as crisp and structured as the ones he wrapped. His penmanship alone gives the gifts a fancier feel. Victor was inspired by a celebrity's choice of gift wrap (black on black) for our holiday gift wrap.
The dining table was put together by Victor; he chose the plates, star ornaments, and small silver tree center piece. I love that it is elegant yet simple, I think that is the whole feel of our holiday decor this holiday season. We have pieces that look elegant yet are still simple and versatile.
We've received many Christmas cards these past few weeks and it is so very exciting! I've never really experienced this before I mean when I lived with my parents we'd only receive maybe 2 or 3 and one was usually from our dentist! It feels so good to know that our friends/family took the time to send out a card and write a sweet note inside. It also feels surreal and amazing to read "Jose and Victor Go..." on the envelope! Just a reminder that this is actually real life, this is MY life now.
I hope everyone is as excited as I am for Christmas, and has
had a wonderful holiday season:
Merry Christmas!

HOME.
It's 12:40am and I am blogging from our new BED!!! This is so exciting because our apartment is FINALLY coming along as we pictured it. These past few weeks have been crazy, getting everything ready, buying groceries, working hectic schedules and on our free time trying to enjoy our apartment and our time together. Below I will share a few photos from the last few weeks and past few days:
Our first outing together, the day after moving in at a friend's kids Toy Story themed B-day party.
Victor decorated our windows with some 4th of July lights that he purchased a while ago. He's been obsessing over classic American lifestyle so these lights represent him very well and serve as great night lights.
Victor has been cooking a lot and that is yet another thing he is very good at! Since he has been the chef I felt like surprising him one day with a romantic dinner as soon as he got home from work. We didn't have a dining table yet, so I had to work with what we had. He was very impressed with my Monterrey Jack Chicken dinner that I prepared (heck I was even impressed!).
Downtown LA has just opened up a new Target and we decided to check it out this past Friday. We actually spent all day driving through the city and finding hidden gems not too far from our apartment.
We ended our Friday night by heading to IKEA in Burbank, purchasing a dining room table and stopping for donuts at Krispy Kreme! I can't wait to post photos of our apartment but it isn't quite finished yet, almost!
I leave you all with a song that I currently have replaying in my head:

Just outside Target on 7th + Figueroa.
That Friday we also took a trip to Highland Park, a city about 15 minutes from Old Town Pasadena with a lot of latin influences. We found the first ever Forever 21 store and even a movie theater that has $3 movies on Tuesdays and Wednesdays! We are planning to go very soon! There were great little shops around, a super cool bar, and BEAUTIFUL homes that I (along with Victor) fell in love with! Like always we had a photo-shoot and I'm sure Victor will soon make a blogpost about it here.

EVENTFUL FRIDAY.
This Friday I spent almost all day with Victor, it was a day to celebrate our 22 months together! I try to celebrate every month by either having a dinner date, giving him a sweet small gift, or both. This month I gave him a candy apple from Disneyland that he absolutely loves, and a dozen red roses. I never give to receive, but Victor always gives me something in return. The best gifts I think are those hand made, and he made me this super cute card which read "I'm Tied Down To You". One thing (of many) that I love about Victor is that he is VERY creative, to me everything he does is a masterpiece because he puts so much thought into any project and he invests himself 100% with any project so I know whatever he gives me has a lot of meaning behind it.
I was looking forward to this day so much because I have completely decided to take the next big step and move in with him! I now more than ever feel like this next step is much needed, and I am ready to wake up next to him and come home to him after a long day at work. I'm excited to get our own space and decorate it and eat dinner together every night. Just typing this gets me so happy!! After exchanging gifts we took off apartment hunting. We found some cute apartments BUT fell in love with one in the heart of downtown. Just the street it was on was so beautiful, full of vibrant colors, and Spanish culture. Unfortunately the apartment did not have any studios available and only had a single apartment open, meaning for one person only. I was bummed. The outside of the apartment building can be seen below:
After hearing the bad news we decided to take a walk around the area since we loved it, and hoped to find other cute apartments within walking distance of this one. We did find a few cute ones but not as cute as this one. I was so sad, but have to learn to be patient. This is my first time apartment hunting, and I learned that it isn't an easy task. As Victor said, "looking for an apartment is a full time job.", and I completely agree with that saying. We might not have found the right apartment for us but I'm sure we will soon. I'm hoping to find one before December because I LOVE decorating for the holidays!
We continued our adventure by taking a trip to the mall, and then followed that by having dinner at Lucille's Smokehouse BBQ in Cerritos CA.
For starters we ordered hot wings; a classic choice for us two.
Tired, and super full from all that food, we headed back home to relax, and watch some television. I had a great time, and only wish I could have spent the night with him.

UNVEIL.
In just 30 minutes I will finally surprise my boyfriend by sending him this blog's URL. I'm excited to see what he thinks of the idea. I've been working on this blog all week, and even though I am not fully satisfied with it, I'm proud of what I've accomplished these past few days. This blogging world is new to me, and I had trouble even getting around the blogger homepage and the layouts, but for now I am happy with it. I hope to learn more about blogging from him, and how to make my blog look much more "cute" as I envision it in my head. I do wish to keep the crisp, clean, and simple look that I have going on right now, but that all can change with time. Here's to 22 months with the boy I love, and to many more blog posts to come.
